John Hancock Center

 우여곡절 끝에 John Hancock Center에 갔는데 전망대 입장권을 사려니까 직원이 'Zero-view'라며 표를 팔지 않겠단다. '제로 뷰'가 무슨 말인지 몰라 재차 물으니까 손으로 0을 나타내고 눈으로 보는 시늉을 하며 안개가 끼었다고 친절히 설명해 주었다. 전망대에 올라가 봐야 보이는 게 없을 거라는 얘기였다.

 고맙다고 하며 나와 보니 안개가 빌딩 상층부를 휘감은 상태였다. 그래서 환한 낮에 본 시어즈 타워에서 본 풍경도 희뿌연했었나 보다. 다른 빌딩 전망대도 마찬가지겠지만 죤 행콕 센터의 전망은 유명했는데 아쉬웠다.

You couldn't even get close to seeing the top of the building. People who paid money to go to the top were surely disappointed.
